Amazon.com Announces the Most Well-Read Cities in America

Kicking off the summer reading season, Amazon.com, Inc. announced its annual list of the Most Well-Read Cities in America. The ranking was determined by compiling sales data of all book, magazine and newspaper sales in both print and Kindle format since June 1, 2011, on a per capita basis in cities with more than 100,000 residents.

Amazon.com ranks Cambridge the second most well-read city in America

Alexandria, Va., Cambridge, Mass., and Berkeley, Calif., top Amazon’s second annual “Most Well-Read Cities in America” list.

Boulder named 5th most well-read city in America by Amazon.com

The rankings, released today, were determined by compiling Amazon's per capita sales of books, magazines and newspapers in both print and Kindle format since June 1, 2011. Boulder also ordered more books in the health, fitness and dieting category than any other city on the list.
